Musical Theater Philippines’ (Musicat) bio-musical on the Philippine national hero. This stage play addresses modern-day Filipino youths’ reservations about the hero. ANINO provided visuals to enhance nearly each and every scene’s message.

“I especially enjoyed the visual effects of the Anino Shadow Play Collective, who used the overhead projector cleverly and judiciously, enhancing the “message” of every scene without being too literal or redundant.
A woeful lament of three cold and shivering Filipino expats in Europe [...] is illustrated by a backdrop of raindrops running down into sad rivulets. An ode to Dapitan is accompanied by a fuzzy photo of the seaside, made even mistier with the use of a veil of fishnets. And when Rizal is executed, his death is implied by the eloquent symbolism of a bowler hat falling and landing on the ground.”
